Today I

scrubbed the fungus out of one of our kitchen cabinets (we have wet walls in the kitchen, rather disgusting I know, probably TMI) in my underwear, with bleach, while the Girlfriend helped by... taking photos. Of my arse.

Granted, she probably had a better time than I did.

Home

My very spoiler-y thoughts on Deathly Hallows are here.

Now I need to scrub the London dust from under my fingernails (because yep, for the first time in 26 years I actually *have* fingernails. Yay byte-x!) and get some sleep.

Harry Potter silliness

|
Ready? Ready!

Overpacked like I've never done before (Do I really need 10 t-shirts and 4 sweaters?). Stressed like I've never done before.
Yep, I think I'm ready for London.

We'll be back Wednesday night/Thursday morning, unless we get arrested for getting into a fight with Severus/Female shippers at Sectus. (Because I will defend Severus' Gay Honour with all I have!) Or unless Spike and the Girlfriend wear me down in their relentless hunt for horcruxes shoes and NerdStuff (someone stop me from buying a Capt Jack "action figure"...). If you need to find me, I'll be the lone Belgian strolling through the touristic sights of London while they're in Oxford Street, high on Dr Pepper and Rollo milkshakes.

Oh. And if the book I'm reading now is in fact the real Harry Potter book, then I'm obliterating it from my memory. It never happened. Kinda like Buffy Season 7!

I'm not nervous

Oh who am I kidding.
We're leaving for London on Friday morning and already I'm a nervous wreck. I'm making list after list and I have to refrain myself not to make a list about the other lists of "to do" and "to take" stuff.

Not that I'm crazy or anything.

One more day (before my weeks off) I have to try and be half-competent at work and not club my colleagues in frustration. "Hel-lo! I am standing here. Yes, I would like to be consulted when you decide what to do with the families that are supposed to be my responsibity."
For whatever reason I have the idea that my two weeks-and-a-bit off will leave me more stressed (from thinking about work) than just staying at work.
Now that's not quite the attitude to go on holiday with.

It looks like we'll be missing our travel guide Kimberly this year, but perhaps we'll have to take our Severus Snape-model with us. He deserves some time in the spotlight, especially since there's no telling what horrid fate awaits him from the JK Rowling woman (well, unless you've been spoiled of course, then you know everything).

Right. Off to make more lists! And to stress about going to a geeky Harry Potter convention! And meeting madscot! (And leaving the cats to plunder our house -and our catsitter-). Eak!

(I'm not really a wizard)

The fabulous Sir Ian Mckellen on Extras. Am I crazy for thinking he looks amazing for his age?

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

The Girlfriend, Spikey and I went to see the new Harry Potter film yesterday. Thankfully, we were spared of too many obnoxious children (though the four teenage girls behind us could've done with some Snape-ish glares) and I managed to sqee at Severus and Lucius to my heart's content.

In case anyone's interested, my (very spoilery) "review" of the film is over on my livejournal.

Vengeance

Apparently lightning struck in I. (again) causing half of the region to miss out on the arrival of the Tour de France (due to lack of telly).
Is this revenge for all the years I suffered through my father's favourite summer passtime (in beautiful weather no less!) of watching the Tour all through his holidays?

I realised this weekend that we're leaving for London in less than two weeks time, and we've done practically nothing to prepare. We haven't even really arranged for a cat-sitter for the whole six days!
Nor have we prayed to whatever deity for nice weather.
And they say I'm the better organised of the two... (and the nice one apparently)

*hee*

It's amazing how suddenly everything is more interesting than housework. I think I'd gladly do some banking in order to postpone the ironing.

Ah well.
Looking for Rufus Wainwright on Youtube is definitely not a bad tactic.

hmz

5 failed terrorist attacks in three days in the UK....
*failed*
All of them.

Either terrorists need to go back to terrorism school, MI5 and 6 are suddenly superfantastic, Gordon Brown is god, or it's sheer dumb luck. But it's a bit weird. (and by god, I hope I haven't jinxed it now... )
